A week dedicated to waste reduction

From November 16th to 24th, the European Waste Reduction Week puts a spotlight on the importance of responsible waste management and taking concrete action to reduce waste.

At Deltrian, we believe that sustainability isn’t just a one-week initiative—it’s a cornerstone of how we operate. As part of our efforts to reduce our environmental footprint, we’ve implemented an innovative solution to recycle all our waste wood and wooden pallets.

This initiative not only minimizes waste but also gives these materials a second life in the form of chipboard panels and heating pellets.

How Deltrian recycles wooden pallets

Deltrian has established a circular system to ensure that none of our wooden pallets or waste wood goes to waste:

• Step 1: Collection

  Every piece of waste wood and every pallet that can no longer be reused is carefully collected and stored in a dedicated container at our facilities.

• Step 2: Transformation

  Once collected, 100% of this wood waste is sent for recycling, where it is transformed into chipboard panels and heating pellets.

In 2023, this process allowed us to recycle more than 16 tons of wood!

Recycling wooden pallets is just one example of how Deltrian embraces sustainability. By adopting a circular approach to waste management, we not only reduce our impact on the environment but also ensure that materials that would otherwise be discarded are reintegrated into useful and sustainable products.
