The challenges at Gramitherm’s plant

Gramitherm encountered two significant issues at their facility:

1. Odors and dust affecting the neighborhood: The recycling process emitted odors and dust particles that created discomfort for nearby residents.
2. A need to recover heat for energy efficiency: The press furnace produced significant heat that could be reused but required an effective system to capture and redirect it.

Addressing these challenges was critical for Gramitherm to continue their operations without compromising their commitment to sustainability or community relationships.

Deltrian’s tailored solutions

To tackle these issues, Deltrian designed and implemented customized solutions:

For odors and dust: We increased the size of the chimneys to redirect used air higher up, reducing the impact on the surrounding area. Additionally, we installed customized filter boxes to ensure clean air emissions.

For heat recovery: A new system of ducts and filters was designed to capture heat from the press furnace and redirect it to the dryer. This system not only recovered energy but also ensured particle filtration, maintaining air quality throughout the process.
