No break at Deltrian. The first two production lines for surgical masks have been running at full speed for a month. The last two will be operational from Monday. Finally, in the next few days, the Fleurusienne company will also be offering very high-performance citizen masks via its e-shop.

For three months, Deltrian Protective Equipment has been racing against time. Chosen by the Walloon Region last April to create a new industrial sector dedicated to the production of surgical masks, the Fleurusienne company did not have time to breathe.
The time to order the machines (in Germany), to receive them, to refine the settings, July had already begun when the first masks came out of the lines. They were in turn duly validated and certified before the sector was officially launched. For the past month, production has been sustained: 150 to 200,000 masks are produced daily. And the pace will pick up even more. The last two production lines arrived in Fleurus last Saturday. They are being adjusted. Their commissioning is scheduled for Monday..
At the same time, Deltrian’s R&D teams have developed a single-layer citizen mask that offers more comfort and better breathability. It passed the validation and certification tests with flying colours.
"Its performance is very close to that of a surgical mask. "
— Jean Kalyvas, Sales and Marketing Director at Deltrian
This citizen mask will be made on the same machines that produce surgical masks. A small series–24,000 copies anyway!–has already come off the line. As of Friday, Deltrian will accelerate the tempo to pass to 33,000 copies.
And that’s good, by the end of the week, the Fleurusienne company will launch its online sales site which will allow the population to buy these citizen masks.
The DeltriGex Mask – it’s its little name – will be sold in packs of 5 copies at the price of €9.95. Its effectiveness has been tested by a Belgian approved body: it displays 90%. Each mask can be machine washed 25 times at a temperature of 60º. For the record, the local workforce was favored for the packaging: the task was entrusted to the protected workshop Cambier.
"It already seems to have a bright future ahead of it! We have already been contacted by several resellers from other countries. "
— Jean Kalyvas, Sales and Marketing Director at Deltrian
And for Deltrian Protective Equipment, the story doesn’t end here. New developments are scheduled for the coming months… To be continued, as they say in the series.
